NATIONAL POLICIES
1. No National Policy shall be in conflict with any Federal, State or National Regulation. 2. No State Policy shall be in conflict with any National Policy or Regulation. 3. No Chapter Policy shall be in conflict with any State or National Policy or Regulation.
Regional/Junior Board Members
When AMPO reaches a number of participating States, between eight and twelve, Regional Directors will be appointed to represent a number of States. Members may apply through their State Office. To be appointed there will be consideration of qualifications which will include the polling of members and State Office personnel. The Regional Representatives will be appointed by the National Senior Officers and will also take the role of The Board of Junior Officers in National Meetings. The Junior Officers will represent the States and Chapters of their region through a vote on the National Board on issues concerning members of the organization. When National has six to twelve states participating in AMPO Regions will be formed and the Regional Representatives will be appointed which will also be the Junior Board Members of National.
State Representative
Each State Office will have one appointed member to represent their state and the chapters of that State at Regional Meetings. State Members of AMPO may apply through their State Office. To be appointed there will be consideration of qualifications which will include the polling of members and State Office personnel. The State Representatives will be appointed by the National Senior Officers at a Board Meeting. Each State Representative will have a vote at the Regional Board Meetings. Until Regions are set up the State Representatives will serve at the National Level as interim Junior Officers representing their state members as voting National Officers.
State, Regional and National Meetings
The Board meetings at State, Regional and National level may be held through email or when available through a conference call network system. National will pay for the use of the conference call system when it is deemed in the best interest of the AMPO to lessen the overall cost. It may be a toll call but most people have the option of a phone service with unlimited long distance. This is something to take into consideration when becoming a representative. This system will be controlled through National and meeting times will have to be set up in advance and only one meeting can occur at any one time. Notes should be taken or recorded by phone attachment and typed out. National needs a copy of all meeting minutes signed by the secretary. Although a National Officer may only vote in the meetings they are elected or appointed to they may stand in on any meeting. There should be a notation of all attendees. When attendees enter the meeting they should announce their name and who they are representing for the record. There will be forms to fill out to request a meeting time that the meeting will start and an expected time to end. The end time is needed and should be observed in the case that another meeting is set up back to back with yours. This information may be emailed, faxed or sent by regular mail. The requester must leave time for a response, if there is a meeting already scheduled for your requested time that time will not be available for your meeting. You may give an alternate time and date. Remember that the start time always has to have an expected end time to go with it. It would be best if a typical meeting time is set up for your group and that time will be kept open for your group. You may also have special meetings if needed. There is no charge for extra meetings but board and executive meetings take priority. We will attempt to keep a few spots open for members who wish to only listen in on a meeting at all levels. This will be on a first come basis. We see it as being very important to keep all members in touch with all office divisions and with this in mind we would like to encourage all levels to pay attention to each individual member of AMPO. Any member can call and talk to us at National Headquarters and be assured that we will take up your concerns and suggestions. I would urge all state and regional officers to take this same concern for us to work with all members of AMPO. It would be good to make sure that all concern have gone through local channels first or encourage the individual to bring it through the local chain of command but is not a necessity.
